University Hospitals and Clinics staff presented plans for a temporary, trailer-based clinic on university-owned land adjacent to the West Valley health campus. Administrators described the facility as about 12,000 square feet, the largest temporary clinic the system has constructed, and estimated total project cost just under $9,000,000 with sunk foundation costs of about $250,000.
Presenters said the temporary clinic would increase community access as the permanent facility is constructed, support recruitment of clinicians, and be repurposed later; trustees asked about timeline and functionality. The administration estimated an opening in March–April of next year and said the trailers have a usable life of more than 10 years. The board voted to approve the temporary-clinic project as presented.
"This is just under $9,000,000, all of which, except for about 250,000, is actually either part of the infrastructure that's coming from the site or repurpose," a presenter said while outlining costs and timeline.
