Chief operating officer Jen Blavreich presented plans to relocate the university’s print, mail and receiving operations from the Turpin building to a site on the north end of West Village, describing the facility as roughly 30,000 square feet with an option for a second floor adding about 20,000 square feet.
Blavreich said the unit supports about 36 employees, handled roughly 11,500 print orders in the last year and processed more than 8 million printed pieces; the receiving operation handles daily freight and could see between 8 and 15 trucks per day at the new site. Trustees moved to approve the design and construction and the motion passed on voice vote.
"This is a building that's about 30,000 square feet," Blavreich said while summarizing the operational rationale and site-selection work that tied the project to the CollegeTown master-plan objectives.
