Parks and recreation projects were a central operations update at the July 28 meeting. Parks & Recreation Director Ryan Anderson told the council the Wakema Pickleball Court project "is to start Aug 18th and have a final completion date of October 5th." Anderson also reported the Center Point Legion donated $5,000 to Parks and Rec for Little League and said he was grateful for the relationship.
Anderson said the splash pad has required extra attention this season, with many parts replaced; he said the city will hire a company to conduct a study of the splash pad to assess life span and maintenance options. The Harvest Festival was also scheduled for Oct. 10, per the minutes.
These items were delivered as part of the department report; the minutes do not record public opposition or alternative funding sources for the projects.
