Superintendent McBrain told the board that work at the high school included a longstanding elevation issue in the parking area north of the football field and that the Building and Grounds Committee recommended gathering additional pricing. The district presented two options: concrete at $159,400 or asphalt at $105,000. The board chose the concrete option as a longer-lasting solution on a motion by Brian Patton, seconded by Kassie Greenwood; the roll call vote was 6-0.
The Facilities Maintenance Director also summarized ongoing construction work at district sites: Coffeen has two classrooms remaining, Beckemeyer Elementary's interior work is complete, two junior high classrooms are being tiled and the old gym floor is being refinished. The board was told outstanding punch-list items at the high school are expected to be finished by Monday.
