The Hillsboro Community Unit School District #3 Board of Education approved its consent agenda at the Aug. 12 regular meeting, including minutes from July 8, 2025, payables and a financial report that Superintendent McBrain said included minor adjustments and payments to O'Shea and RP Lumber. The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Brian Patton, seconded by Kassie Greenwood and passed on a roll call vote of 6-0.
Board members also directed district personnel to develop the tentative FY26 budget as required by school code. The motion to instruct Superintendent McBrain to prepare the FY26 tentative budget was approved by voice vote, 6-0, and the board later set a public hearing on the tentative budget for Sept. 16, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.
