The St. Charles Parish School Board unanimously adopted a proclamation declaring February 2026 as National School Counseling Week, saying school counselors play an essential role in student development and success.
Ellis Alexander read the proclamation and moved its adoption; the board seconded and approved the measure. Dr. Alex Scribe Summer, the district’s counseling student support specialist, introduced counselors attending from across the district and the board invited them forward for recognition and a photo.
"They are truly amplifying student success," said the counseling specialist during remarks honoring the counselors. The board recorded the proclamation for the public record and thanked counselors for their work supporting students, families and teachers.
