The Woodbury County Board of Supervisors advanced a package of zoning text amendments intended to clarify rules for accessory dwelling units (ADUs), solar energy road-use references, and telecommunications colocation language. Daniel Priestley said the zoning commission recommended the changes to add minimum and maximum dimensions for ADUs, align county ordinance language with Iowa Code for counties lacking building codes, and remove obsolete colocation requirements that the legislature already changed.
Priestley said the package also includes bookkeeping updates such as reclassifying page and section numbers and correcting a road use and repair agreement referenced in the solar energy section. The board opened public hearings on the amendments, heard no public comment, and approved first readings by unanimous vote.
