City staff told the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board that demolition work at the community center is nearly finished and framing is scheduled to begin mid-next week. Marcus Graves said the upper floor demo and beam removals are complete and that "they should be done by Monday" with framing to follow.
Graves said the city is ahead of schedule and still targeting early July for hosting a council meeting and a preparatory board event at the center. He also noted that the board carved out funds for exterior repairs: "We've carved out funds. We've got, goals for the stucco. So it was under $15,000 to repair all the stucco," Graves said. Staff also reported the storage yard relocation is underway and that parking and pavilion options will be evaluated in future agendas.
