Register of Deeds will not receive 2025 pay increase; possible early hire still under consideration

Commissioner Carla Grund and Commissioner Duane Morris offered to assist in the Register of Deeds office when needed. County Treasurer JoDee Copple said other elected offices had not historically received pay raises tied to certification. The commission reached consensus not to increase Walker's salary in 2025 and to keep hiring at the 2025 wage schedule; Walker indicated she might still proceed to hire sooner and could offer more than the posted 2025 wage to fill an open position.
