The Greenwood Park Board on Monday approved a package of use agreements for Freedom Park and the district field house, clearing dates for school cross‑country meets, youth sports tournaments and a PTO field‑house rental.
Chair (speaker 2) called for motions on several items in succession. The board approved the July 7, 2026 minutes and then voted to permit the Bailey Woods Turkey Burn at Freedom Park (mover: Miss Williams; seconder: Mister Burton). The board likewise approved a Grumman Bibb School cross‑country agreement and a Saint Francis and Claire cross‑country use, as well as a Center Grove Elementary PTO rental of the field house; motions were moved and seconded and the Chair recorded the approvals.
“Anyone who disrupts this meeting will be asked to leave and maybe escorted out,” the Chair said at the start of the meeting while soliciting motions and votes. Staff told the board they have worked with many of the groups previously and do not anticipate legal issues with the agreements.
Board members also approved rental agreements with PowerForce/PowerCore and Connect Sports for upcoming tournaments and sports‑park usage. Staff noted that some events are seasonal and that the city’s operations will shift as summer programs wind down and winter rentals increase.
