Coats Planning Board seeks more citizen input and reschedules January meeting

Chair Hazel Stephenson told colleagues at the Dec. 4 meeting she wants increased citizen input in 2026 and expressed openness to training sessions in months without applicant reviews.
"She began by expressing how important citizen input was and she was hopeful to get more of that in the next year," the minutes record. Members agreed to prioritize outreach; Town Manager Barbara Hollerand noted staff will line up updates on subdivision progress and other items so the board stays informed.
The board also addressed scheduling: because the regular Jan. 1 meeting would fall on the holiday, members agreed to reschedule it to Jan. 8 at 6:00 p.m. The motion to reschedule was made by Ally Fouts, seconded by Misty Gil, and approved unanimously, 6-0.
No substantive public comment was made during the public forum portion of the meeting.
