Cayuga County health plan reports $2.66 million in February medical claims, YTD $5.28M

Zachary Zuckerman of USI reported the County of Cayuga Health Insurance Consortium's medical plan paid $2,659,128 in net claims for February 2026 and about $5,283,167 year to date. "Medical plan is running at about 89.3% for 2026," the presentation notes, and the board received an attached claims report.
Zuckerman told board members that net claims per employee have increased about 1.6% from last year, membership decreased by 37 people (about a 2.4% drop), and prescription claims currently account for 35.9% of total claims. He also reported there are currently no large claimants on the plan. The figures were presented as part of USI's financial claims update and are reflected in the meeting materials attached to the minutes.
Board members did not record follow-up motions tied to the claims numbers during the meeting. USI's presentation and the accompanying notes were entered into the minutes for the consortium to review ahead of the next meeting.
