"That was a $3,500,000 donation to the city to help us afford this project," Escobedo said, describing private-sector contributions being paired with Community Development Block Grant and other funding sources to advance affordable housing near Story Boulevard. He also noted upcoming Committee of the Whole discussion on public-safety and capital projects including a roughly $22,000,000 remodeling ask for city facilities.
Board members asked clarifying questions about administrative warrants and whether those are safety-only; Escobedo said the warrants are tied to probable-cause inspections for safety violations. He also offered to share council goal lists that include preservation-related items for board consideration during its strategic planning work.
