Bel Aire council approves consent agenda and appoints Kent Koehler to planning commission

The Bel Aire City Council voted to approve its consent agenda at the Aug. 4 meeting, a packet that included prior meeting minutes and Change Order No. 4 for the 2026 street maintenance program. Councilmember Emily Hamburg made the motion, which was seconded by Councilmember Brandon McIntosh, and the measure passed 4–0.
As part of the consent agenda the mayor nominated Kent Koehler to fill a planning commission seat; if confirmed his term runs from 08/04/2026 through 08/04/2029. The mayor noted Koehler currently serves as Bel Aire's representative on the Sedgwick County Fire District 1 steering council. Council took no separate roll call on the nomination beyond consent-approval.
