The Cheyenne Historic Preservation Board elected Amber Conwell as chair, Josh Chrysler as vice chair and David Benner as secretary after outgoing chair moved a slate and the board approved it by voice vote.
"I would move, chair for, Amber Conwell. I would move, vice chair for Josh Chrysler, and I would move David Benner for secretary," the outgoing chair said during nominations, and a second followed. Members vocalized their support in a roll-call/voice vote that concluded with multiple "aye" responses and the chair's thanks to the new officers.
The election comes after the outgoing chair announced he will step off the board at the end of the next month's meeting for caregiving and personal priorities. The board also discussed approval of the Dec. 9 minutes, agreeing to approve them "pending an amendment based on the recording for the demolition portion" to correct a disputed reference to pump-house demolition-cost language.
The newly elected officers begin one-year officer terms as the board prepares a strategic planning retreat in late February and continues work on the pump house, airport fountain and heritage projects.
