Public-works staff said the Forestry Division will plant a total of 610 new trees in village parkways over the next three years, funded by both the general fund and a developer tree fund. The village secured a $64,000 tree-equity grant to support an additional 250 trees, and staff recommended awarding the three-year purchase-and-delivery contract to The Fields on Canton Farm for a not-to-exceed $152,450.
The contract was approved by roll call without objections. Staff noted the village will perform installation in-house and that three contractors bid at the January 19 opening; The Fields submitted the lowest responsible and complete bid.
