Sen. Stratton and other legislative members pressed the authors to present dollar amounts with percentages so appropriations committees can assess scale. "The percentage is nice, but we need to have dollars and cents," one legislator said, asking the report to show what the growth amounts mean relative to the state's $31 billion budget.
The task force agreed to produce an updated draft that includes dollar figures and clearer language stating the PTF will not be altered by this initiative. Staff said they would circulate an edited report by the end of the day and give members until the first days of December to provide final feedback. The group also agreed to send a letter to the Executive Appropriations Committee explaining that significant progress has been made and proposing a timeline for final submission and possible discussion on Dec. 9 (EAC meeting).
