Village approves engineering services for water meter replacement; pre-bid set for April 24

President Staci Danner and the Board of Trustees voted April 3 to approve an Engineering Services Agreement presented by Troy Rhoads of Benton & Associates for a villagewide water meter replacement project. The agreement covers Badger meters, spare parts, Beacon meter-reading software and multiple pressure-reading meters.
Rhoads presented project milestones and a procurement plan, saying the pre-bid meeting is scheduled for April 24 and the bid opening is set for May 1. "Troy estimates the project should be finished by early summer," the meeting record states. Trustee Jones moved to approve the agreement; Trustee Thompson seconded and the board carried the motion unanimously.
The consultant's purchase order includes spare lids and at least one spare pressure-reading meter to support the transition to new meters. The board was told that manual meter reads will be performed before the new system is installed to ensure baseline accuracy. The approved agreement launches the vendor procurement steps and schedules construction-phase procurement once bids are opened.
