Mount Carroll reports Mill Street leak, pool pump repair and WWTP equipment options

Superintendent Jonathan Armstrong told the council the recent Mill Street water-main leak was located in the grass and therefore did not require cutting into newly paved road surfaces. Armstrong said crews completed abandoning an old school water line and replaced a hydrant at Benton and Main.
Armstrong reported the city pool required a rebuilt pump motor to finish the season; the pool is scheduled to close on Aug. 31, 2025. He presented two quotes to replace transducers at the wastewater treatment plant: $6,800 to "replace as is" and $11,200 for a newer model, and noted the Water & Sewer Committee planned to research which option to select. Separately, the council approved an electrical-testing quote from Morse Electric for $4,677 after comparing it with a $6,350 bid from MSA.
