The Safety Subcommittee reported it is reviewing issuance policy for safety vests. Brian Ham explained the subcommittee is “reviewing whether safety vests should be issued directly to personnel or if they should be standard on vehicles,” opening a policy discussion on how to equip personnel for incident safety.
The committee did not take formal action on the matter at the April 8 meeting and there was no public comment on the safety-vest review. Members indicated the topic will remain under review for potential recommendation at a future meeting.
