Board approves minutes and bills, sets Halloween hours; attorney to present tax levy under 5% in November

The Village of Industry Board of Trustees approved the minutes from its September meeting and authorized payment of October bills after Trustee Thompson made a motion and Trustee Wheeler seconded; the minutes record that "The VOTE was unanimous and MOTION CARRIED." The meeting closed with Trustee Jones moving to adjourn and Trustee Thompson seconding the motion.
Under new business the board tabled discussion on a salary increase or bonus for the water billing clerk until next month but set Trick-or-Treating hours for October 30 and 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. Treasurer Black reported the annual insurance bill totaled approximately $15,000 and will be paid in two installments with a roughly 1% charge for installments; Black also said the village will receive $60 in credits from the McDonough Telephone Cooperative. Attorney Laegeler told trustees he will present next year’s proposed tax levy at the November meeting and that the increase will be under 5%; a public hearing will be held before that meeting begins.
