Board approves Social Services reclassification to reflect current duties

The board approved reclassifying a senior clerk (CACA grade E) to senior typist (CACA grade F) in Social Services to align the role with current duties after the incumbent leaves.
Nate explained the reclassification request for Social Services: a long-time encumbered senior clerk position (CACA grade E) will be reclassified to senior typist (CACA grade F) to reflect the duties the position now requires.
"A request to reclassify 1 senior clerk position, CACA grade e, to senior typist position, CACA grade f," Nate said. The board moved, seconded and approved the reclassification during open session. Staff said the county has rarely used the senior-clerk title and that the senior-typist label better fits current operations.
Personnel staff will update job classifications and proceed with hiring or internal placement as vacancies arise.
