Board approves 911 account-clerk promotion to senior role for succession

For succession and training purposes the board approved reclassifying a currently filled account clerk typist in emergency services/911 to a senior account clerk typist (CSEA grade I).
Nate told the board emergency services requested reclassifying a currently filled account clerk typist (CSEA grade D) to a senior account clerk typist (CSEA grade I) to prepare for an imminent retirement and to ensure appropriate training and coverage.
"This is a situation where we have a long time person in a senior account clerk typist position that will be retiring probably in a year or so...so for training purposes...the work has really...got not only more, but higher level as well," Nate said. The board seconded the motion and approved the reclassification during open session.
Staff said the change is intended to preserve institutional knowledge as the incumbent retires and to realign duties to current operational needs in the 911/emergency services center.
