Committee approves reclassifications, new positions and tuition aid; Veterans One Stop contract will end in June

All motions carried 5‑0 and resolutions are required for the reclassifications and new positions.
A tuition aid request from Community Services employee Toni Burns for five graduate courses (Master's in Social Work) totaling $5,232.50 was approved; reimbursement will occur upon successful completion of the courses.
County Manager Gary Smith informed the committee that Veterans One Stop of Western New York — the county's contracted Veterans Services provider under a five‑year contract — does not wish to renew the contract beyond the current term, which expires at the end of June. Smith said staff are coordinating with Community Services and will return to the committee with options.
What happens next: staff will prepare required resolutions for the Legislature on personnel matters and will report back on Veterans Services options.
