Rochelle introduced the annual resolution designating who must file financial disclosure statements “pursuant to local law number 2 of 2020,” and the board moved, seconded and approved the resolution.
"This is just the annual, resolution designating who must file financial just financial disclosure statements, and it's pursuant to local law number 2 of 20 20," Rochelle said when she introduced the item. Board members asked why some outside agencies were listed and others were not; staff explained the list includes entities created by Steuben County, while agencies not created by the county (for example, certain nonprofits) would not be included on that county-created list.
Staff noted the purpose of the disclosures is to address situations where individuals make policy or participate in contracting and could have a financial conflict of interest. The resolution passed by voice vote with no objections recorded during open session.
