The Kenyon‑Wanamingo School Board on March 23 adopted a resolution to discontinue and reduce educational programs and positions, voting unanimously after Member Debb Paquin introduced the measure. The board recorded that the district faces changing enrollment and financial limitations, including a status of Statutory Operating Debt, and referenced a January 26, 2026 board resolution directing administrative recommendations for reductions.
Under the adopted resolution the board eliminated six elementary teacher positions effective at the end of the 2025–26 school year (June 30, 2026); the Lead Bookkeeper position was eliminated effective June 30, 2026; the Maintenance Technician and Outdoor Grounds Maintenance positions were eliminated effective April 6, 2026; and one custodian position was eliminated effective April 6, 2026. The minutes record the motion was seconded by Member Marilyn Syverson and approved with all members voting in favor.
