The Board approved a quote from Election Systems & Software for $5,065 annually to cover hardware and software maintenance and licensing for the DS450 scanner and tabulator used by the Elections Office.
Jamie O'Loughlin presented the agreement on behalf of the Elections Office and said preventative maintenance and licensing are required now that the initial warranty has expired; without a maintenance plan the office would face ad-hoc repair costs at current rates. "This agreement is for hardware and software maintenance support and license agreement for the DS 4 50 scanner and tabulator as the initial warranty has expired," O'Loughlin said.
The board moved, seconded and approved accepting the quote and the arrangement to automatically renew annually unless notice of termination is provided by either party. The meeting did not record details on the length of any initial term beyond the automatic renewal language.
