County selects three providers for youth treatment and crossover services under FY26 funding

The Board accepted several proposals to deliver juvenile-services programming funded through state fiscal year 26 allocations (covering 07/01/2025–06/30/2027), contingent on funding awarded by the Kansas Department of Corrections.
Lee Barrier (presenting for Juvenile Services/Department of Corrections) read RFP components and said a review committee unanimously recommended the following awards: Cherry Creek Treatment Center — $243,192.54 for comprehensive adolescent substance-use treatment (plus a supplemental request of $240,834.70 to establish services); Kansas Department for Children and Families — funded at $158,528.80 for a crossover youth program; and TFI Family Services Inc. — $300,000 for evidence-based intensive family intervention services. "The proposal from Cherry Creek treatment center for $243,192.54 to provide comprehensive treatment services for adolescents experiencing substance use disorders was selected and funded," the presenter said.
Board members asked for clarification about the supplemental request for establishing services; county staff (Mario Galena) explained the funds would upgrade a facility to meet licensing requirements and prepare it to serve juveniles. The awards were moved, seconded and approved by roll call. Contracts and allocations remain contingent on receiving state funds from the Kansas Department of Corrections.
