Board approves one‑year agreement to supply supplemental law enforcement to Vallejo

The Solano County Board of Supervisors approved an agreement with the City of Vallejo to provide supplemental general law enforcement services and authorized the county administrator to execute a side letter to the memorandum of understanding with the deputy sheriffs’ association.
Undersheriff Brad Duall summarized the final steps, noting the side letter with the Solano County Deputy Sheriffs Association had been executed and that the agreement would support Vallejo’s response capacity. Multiple Vallejo officials and residents spoke in favor: Councilmember Tanya Ledejoo urged the board to approve the request and asked the chair to retract a prior remark she found offensive, while Mayor Andrea Sorece said the agreement would provide relief in response times and help department rebuilding. “It’s gonna have an immeasurable impact on the residents of Vallejo providing relief in terms of response times,” the mayor said.
The board voted unanimously to approve the agreement; staff said it will provide short‑term capacity while local policing is rebuilt and that ongoing coordination with the city and county sheriff’s office will continue.
