The Solano County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution recognizing Sheriff Coroner Thomas A. Ferrera for 45 years of public service, including four decades with Solano County and 12 years as the county’s sheriff.
Members of the board and sheriff’s office colleagues read a chronology of Ferrera’s career milestones — from his early service as a police cadet and reserve officer to promotions through the ranks, leadership during natural disasters and the launch of community programs. The clerk introduced the resolution before the board’s vote.
Sheriff Ferrera thanked colleagues and family in brief remarks, reflecting on the department’s culture and decades of service. “I truly enjoyed it for the last 40 years,” he said, adding gratitude to staff and to his wife for her support. The board and guests then gathered for a photo and presentation of a plaque and signed resolution.
