County engineer outlines beacons, bridge preconstruction and watershed reviews for upcoming projects

County Engineer Ryne Thornburg provided supervisors with several secondary roads updates on Feb. 23. He said he spoke with Iowa DOT District 5 about possible DOT participation for beacons on stop signs where county roads intersect state highways.
Thornburg said a preconstruction meeting is scheduled for the bridge replacement on 235th Road over Reeds Creek on Feb. 24, 2026. He also noted a debrief for the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant is scheduled for Feb. 27 and that a review of Indian Creek Watershed structures is set with the Natural Resources Conservation Service on March 2, 2026.
