Issaquah school-board candidate found to have exceeded mini-reporting limits; $150 penalty suspended

The commission heard from compliance officer Eric Aguino on PDC case 183485, alleging that the respondent (a 2025 candidate for Issaquah School District board) exceeded the mini-reporting limits (raising/spending more than $7,000 or receiving more than $500 from a noncandidate source) and then failed to timely file required C3 and C4 reports after exceeding those limits.
Aguino told the commission that the missing reports had been filed. Staff recommended a $150 penalty. Chair Jay Leach found the violation as alleged, assessed a $150 penalty, and suspended the entire amount on the condition that the respondent have no future violations for four years. The suspension mirrored relief previously given in a similar case involving the same counsel, per the chair.
PDC staff will document the finding in a written order.
