Planning director: county pocket annexations expected by mid-March; Coal property annexation underway

Charles, the Planning and Development director, told the board that staff mailed public-notice letters and expects to complete county pocket annexations by mid-March. He said staff is moving forward with annexation of the Coal property (Section 20 north of the mall) and has an agreement with the property owners.
Charles also noted work related to an Edwards Development Company parcel to the north and two additional properties: a school-district parcel and a city fire-station site. "So we do anticipate to have all of the county pockets annexed, by the middle of March," Charles said.
The update signals continued boundary adjustments and coordination with property owners; Charles described this as part of routine planning work and did not report any required board action at this meeting.
