Farmingdale reports wells operational; lead-and-copper letters to be sent by Nov. 13
Summary

The Village of Farmingdale’s water department told the Board of Trustees on Nov. 10 that the system is largely operational and that residents would receive required lead-and-copper letters by Nov. 13.
Water staff reported that Well 1–3 is fully operational and Plant 2 Well 2‑2 is being run manually to fill tanks and can be put “to system” if needed. The village said the SCADA control system is nearing completion and that an evaluation of a ground-tank roof and structure has been finished and next steps are being developed. Philip Ross Industries reported that Well 2‑3 will be returned to service “ASAP,” but village minutes note that Nassau County Health Department approval is required before that well comes back online.
John Falbo supplied distribution and maintenance details, including post‑inspection work to address Board of Health comments for the Ridge Road well, hydrant replacement on Jerome Drive with Merrick Utilities, daily chemical treatment for active wells, and a program of meter-radio replacements and house calls. The updates did not include a specific timetable for Well 2‑3 beyond the pending county approval.
