The Los Lagos Community Services District board voted May 14 to hold a single-topic special meeting on May 28 to work toward a project description for a proposed sewer collection and treatment plan. Staff recommended the narrower meeting format to allow focused discussion and to gather additional materials before any final decision.
General manager (speaker 3) told the board the May 28 meeting would be “singular focus — no invoices, no minutes, nothing. Just talk about this as a topic, and see if you can drive toward some sort of project description, definition” and recommended the date to allow staff time to collect maps and additional counsel guidance. Directors supported asking counsel about LAFCO implications and requested a map showing potential siting, with at least one director asking staff to return with additional options by May 28.
The motion to set May 28 as a special meeting date passed. The board directed staff to work with counsel and to request maps and feasibility details (including potential siting by the DONE option) to present at the special meeting. The board emphasized they expect more detailed information on alternatives, LAFCO considerations and potential environmental review items ahead of decision-making.
