Brown County approved an agreement transferring possession and use of a 2018 Chevy truck from the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) to Precinct 3 in exchange for precinct assistance with moving and maintaining county assets and ensuring monthly testing of generators.
"We'll transfer the 2018 Chevy truck that emergency manager currently has, reduced in possession after March," the OEM presenter said, describing the exchange in which Precinct 3 will provide movement of the generator trailer and cones trailer for training, exercises and emergency response and will maintain and test the equipment monthly. Commissioners moved and seconded approval and the court voted to authorize the agreement.
Staff said the arrangement would put the truck into regular use to avoid battery issues and would help ensure equipment readiness for disasters; the court approved the agreement on the record.
