"I have signed an order, appointing Mitch Moore as the, Brown County auditor," the presenter told the court, adding that Moore would be appointed through the end of the current term and that the plan is to reappoint him to a new two‑year term beginning Jan. 1, 2027. The presenter said Moore recently retired from the Broward Independent School District after a lengthy career in public education and has worked as an assistant superintendent overseeing budget and finance as well as a senior accountant and auditor in the private sector.
County staff said the signed order and supporting paperwork would be filed in the minutes of the court and that Moore had fulfilled the legal requirements for the appointment. No formal roll‑call vote was recorded in the public discussion beyond the announcement and administrative placement of the signed order.
