Rural Fire District #6 by-laws presented; commissioners ask to require BOCC approval for debt

Tammi Cox, Ottawa County Clerk, presented the proposed by-laws for Rural Fire District #6 and said the district is pursuing a bank loan but needs approved by-laws to proceed.
During review the board recommended adding language requiring county oversight of borrowing. The Commission suggested adding: "All debt must be approved by the Board of County Commissioners prior to issuance." Cox said she will contact the district, discuss the change and bring the revised by-laws back to the Commission next week.
