The Jacksonville Beach Board of Adjustments approved variances to allow a new swimming pool at 1208 North 11th Street, granting a rear-yard setback reduction to 3 feet in lieu of 5 feet and accessory structure relief where requested.
Applicant Jacob Sweeney and his contractor explained the lot is nonconforming and that a narrower pool would not meet the family's needs. "We're just asking for a variance to put a pulling," Sweeney said while describing the hardship created by the lot dimensions. Board members found the proposed pool would not encroach meaningfully on neighboring properties and moved to approve the variance. The roll-call vote recorded all members present voting in favor, and the request was approved.
