ICPHD reports January activity: food permits, tobacco inspections and growing senior program caseload

Administrator Robin Allen told the board that in January Environmental Health issued 32 food permits, completed 53 tobacco compliance inspections and provided 15 radon test kits; Senior Services now serves 207 clients and after-hour clinics are scheduled through April.
Administrator Robin Allen presented the department’s January program summary to the board on Feb. 3.
Allen reported that Environmental Health issued 32 food permits in January, distributed 15 radon test kits to local residents and completed 53 tobacco compliance inspections. She said the department recorded five animal-bite reports in January; none required rabies treatment. Allen also noted ICPHD staff engaged 255 visitors at an Iroquois Memorial Hospital lab fair.
Allen said the Senior Services Department currently has 207 clients enrolled in the community care program and that multiple after-hour clinics are scheduled through the end of April. The figures were provided as part of a distributed program summary packet reviewed by the board.
