MAEDCO reports windfarm work starting in August; potential contributions to Pinhook Days

Kim Pierce, representing MAEDCO, briefed the board on economic-development outreach connected to the nearby windfarm and local opportunities. Pierce said construction on a switch yard will start in August, that MasTech is serving as the general contractor for the windfarm and substations and will be looking for housing for workers, and that she has contacted Oliver and RWE who indicated a willingness to help fund Pinhook Days.
Pierce also said she would be willing to call Dollar General to inquire about a potential store in the village. The presentation centered on business recruitment and coordination with contractors and was delivered as part of the June 5 meeting's presentations.
