Commissioner Myers told the commission that Kane County had expected approximately $12 million in state and federal funding for improvements to Coral Pink Sand Dunes Road but received an additional federal lands access program award that raised the available funding by over $3 million, bringing the total to roughly $15–16 million.
Myers said the county is partnering with UDOT on the project, which the state will execute on the county—s behalf when federal project requirements apply. "We have 15 to 16,000,000 to work with on the Coral Pink Sand Dunes Road," Myers said, adding that the increased funding makes the 18‑mile scope more feasible and that work should begin next year. No contract award or formal county action was recorded at the meeting; the update was informational.
