Jean Buie, ERB deputy director, presented diagrams showing the current complex state of eligibility and enrollment data flows and a simplified future state the agency is targeting. She said the technical team identified 48 bugs in the sync file between Benefits 24/7 and PayOne and has deployed nine hotfixes; resolving the remaining issues is a top priority because the sync file supports accounting and downstream carrier enrollment (834) files.
Buie described API development with large employers (Seattle Public Schools, Washington State University and the University of Washington) so those employers can submit enrollment data directly to Benefits 24/7 and avoid manual keying. She also described the planned migration from SAW to wa.gov account access (targeted March–December 2027 window) and said the current earliest procurement and plan implementation timeline for a future medical procurement is plan‑year 2029.
"We have identified 48 bugs, and nine of them have been fixed via a hotfix," Buie said, adding that the team will present more complete remediation plans in next month’s update. Board members asked about PayOne retirement and the long‑term plan to reduce reliance on legacy payroll integrations; staff said that remains a later phase after enrollment file stabilization.
