Farmingdale trustees approve 2026 street fairs, parades and community events
Summary
The Board approved a Main Street street fair (June 6, 2026, rain date June 13), the Columbus Day Carnival and Street Fair (Oct. 8–12 with parade Oct. 11 at 6 p.m.) and Kiwanis Club craft fairs and a veterans resource fair (May 30, 2026 with ~40 vendors).
The Board approved multiple community events for 2026 at its Jan. 20 work session. Resolutions included approval for a Farmingdale Fire Department street fair on Main Street scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026 with a rain date of June 13 (RES #2026-01-09); Columbus Day Street Fair, Carnival and Parade plans for October (RES #2026-01-10) with the parade set for Oct. 11 at 6:00 p.m. and the Carnival running Oct. 8–12; and Kiwanis Club craft fairs on the Village Green on June 28 and Aug. 30, 2026 (RES #2026-01-11).
The Board also approved the Long Island Coalition for Veteran Suicide Prevention's request to use the Village Green for a veterans resource fair on May 30, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with set up at 8:00 a.m. and approximately 40 vendors expected (RES #2026-01-12). For outdoor vendors the Board required sandbags for securing canopies and recorded there would be no fireworks at the Columbus Day Carnival.
