Consultants to hold focus groups Aug. 17'19; commissioners encouraged to attend

Staff told the planning commission that consultants working on the ordinance rewrite will be on site Aug. 17'19 and will present to the commission on the night of Aug. 19 before holding an open house at a different location. The staff member announcing the schedule asked commissioners to attend or to use virtual options if they cannot make the in-person sessions.
"You all should have received an email from me today for a focus group," the staff member said, inviting commissioners and the public to provide feedback and join stakeholder and community-advisory meetings. Staff said the consultants will be available for only those three days in person and that the city will offer virtual alternatives; commissioners were encouraged to forward input or request another scheduled meeting if needed.
The sessions are intended to gather community input that will inform the consultant assessment and help prioritize which ordinance items could be expedited.
