Water Department staff briefed trustees on system operations and near-term capital work. The minutes record that Well 1-3 is fully operational while Plant 2 Well 2-2 remains offline until an AOP certification is completed. Philip Ross Industries indicated Well 2-3 will be returned to service as soon as possible, pending Nassau County Department of Health approval.
Officials said the SCADA system upgrade is nearing completion but awaits additional steps from contractor Philip Ross before Eagle Control can update the system. An evaluation of the ground tank roof and structure is complete; next steps will be developed by John Mirando and engineering firm D&B to begin repairs or replacement. The Board also noted a $4.5 million New York State grant for which a decision is expected in May 2026 and referenced a Senator Schumer grant for the water-department tank.
