The Los Olivos Human Services District board voted to approve a $57,383 contract with Andre Associates to perform environmental review work connected to the district’s wastewater planning.
The agenda read the contract amount into the record and staff explained the vendor has been working with the district since 2023 and that the contract extends through the end of next year to accommodate work that design efforts might uncover. During public comment residents asked whether the work went out to a broad bid; staff responded that the firm was selected from the county’s approved vendor list and that the district received quotes in 2023.
After discussion a board member moved approval and the board approved the motion by roll call. General Manager Savage told the board the firm “can begin doing environmental work in earnest” now that the district has adopted a prior resolution authorizing the step. The motion authorized staff to execute the contract and proceed with the environmental review.
The contract vote clears the way for environmental studies that will inform the district’s RFP and design decisions later this summer.
