Interim City Manager Blake Michelson told the council the city recently closed on the Mott Road parcel that may host a well or back-up water source and thanked staff for recent community events. He announced the ultraviolet (UV) disinfection project for the municipal water system is "on tap to start in June," and warned the project will require a small building and will prompt temporary changes to the Hedge Creek Falls entrance.
Michelson also said the sewer collection system project is wrapping up and that crews are completing paving work; the botanical garden path has reopened. He invited residents to use the city's online survey from a recent environmental-justice workshop to provide input on local priorities such as access to healthy food, outdoor spaces and clean water.
