Construction update: service hook-up, ductwork and subcontractor gaps slow Horace Porter HVAC work

Project staff told the Horace W. Porter HVAC Building Committee on July 20 that Eversource approved the owner’s easement documents and issued a work order for the school’s new electrical service, but an installation date remained pending. Columbia Sheet Metal completed ductwork in Wing B classrooms; work in Wings C and D is next. Tradesmen from the electrical subcontractor are installing power and control wiring to units in Wings B and D and installing new switchgear and conduit.
JRR said site‑electrical activities tied to PCO #10 were tentatively scheduled to begin August 3 and that JRR will attempt to accelerate that date. The steel subcontractor had been off site since July 17 and was expected back on July 22, a gap that could affect structural work and the roofing subcontractor’s schedule.
