Edisto Beach council unanimously approves July 4 Family Fun and Fireworks at Bay Creek Park

The Town of Edisto Beach Council unanimously approved the Town's July 4th Family Fun and Fireworks special event application at a June 24 special meeting, clearing the way for festivities at Bay Creek Park from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on July 4, 2026. Mayor Crawford Moore noted that "the fireworks vendor has insurance coverage in place for the event."
Council records state the event had already been approved for Accommodations Tax (ATAX) funding. Council Member Robert Renner moved to approve the application as presented and Council Member Jay Watts seconded; the motion passed unanimously with Mayor Crawford Moore, Renner, Watts and Joey Bagwell voting yes and Council Member Jerome Kizer recorded absent. Town Attorney Maryann Blake participated via teleconference per the meeting minutes.
There was no additional discussion recorded in the minutes. With no further business, Renner moved to adjourn, Bagwell seconded, and the council voted to adjourn at 10:02 a.m.
